A Pioneer's Vision

Dr. Nawal Kishore Gupta completed his M.B.B.S. from King George Medical College, Lucknow, in 1965. He began his career as a private practitioner in Bareilly and, in 1979, established the city’s first nursing home, Sheel Maternity and Nursing Home, at Alamgiriganj.

Driven by his vision and commitment, Dr. N.K. Gupta went on to establish the first multi-super speciality hospital in Western Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Sheel Hospital (now part of Gangasheel), in 1989. The journey of advancing medical care and education continued with the establishment of the Gangasheel School of Nursing, Gangasheel Blood Bank, and Bareilly’s first trauma centre.
